Everything you might be wondering

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might be wondering, answered the way we'd want it answered for us. If something isn't here, write to us at hello@joinfurever.com — we'd love to talk.

It really is. Love shouldn't have a price tag, and a price tag is just one more reason a cat doesn't find her person — so we took it away. We carry the cost of intake, health, and placement ourselves, because the moment that matters to us isn't the day you sign a form. It's every ordinary day after, when she's curled against you and you can't imagine the room without her. We'd rather spend our money making that first yes easy, and then spend the rest of her life being there for everything that comes next.

The same way any loving home does: by being there for the long haul. Bringing a cat home is the beginning of a relationship, and relationships have a daily rhythm — wellness visits, the right food, a refill that arrives before you've run out, a clinic that knows her by name. We bundle all of that into Purrpetual™, our care plan, and into the pharmacy and products that keep her thriving. So when you choose us, you're not paying us to hand you a cat. You're letting us stay close for the whole of her life. That's not our side business. That's the whole company.

Purrpetual™ is our care plan — the gentle backbone of life with a furever cat. It folds her wellness visits, condition monitoring, and routine medications into one calm monthly membership, so caring for her never means scrambling, comparing, or wondering if you've forgotten something. There are three tiers — Cuddle, Devoted, and Forever — so every family can love at the level that fits them. Most families choose Devoted. The name says what we mean by it: care that simply doesn't stop, because neither does the love.

Of course. You can pause or change your plan anytime — her care simply continues however you choose to provide it. We'll never lock you in with a contract, because the truth is we've never needed to. Once she's home, once she's yours, the question stops being whether to care for her and becomes only how. Families almost never leave us, and it's never because they couldn't. It's because, by then, leaving would mean leaving her — and no one ever wants to do that.

It means a cat who will need you a little more, a little more often, for life. Many of our cats live with a chronic but gentle condition — a wobble, a tremor, eyes that always look like happy tears, skin that's always seeking a warm lap. None of it shortens their long, happy years. All of it is managed, never cured, with a daily ritual of care that becomes the softest part of your morning. We don't think of these cats as harder to love. We think they're easier, because they show you so plainly that they need you. The condition isn't the downside of the cat. It's the part of her that needs you most.

No — and that's not something to be sad about. These conditions are stable and manageable, not progressive and not dangerous. We keep her comfortable, safe, and thriving for all of her years; we simply don't make the part of her that needs you disappear. A wobbly cat stays wobbly. A cat who's always a little cold will always want your blanket. The care is ongoing because she is, happily, ongoing — and the small daily things you do for her are exactly the things that keep the two of you close. Managed, never resolved, is precisely how it should be.

We tell you up front, in plain numbers, on every cat's profile — a matter-of-fact monthly estimate so you can love with both eyes open. Most furever cats run somewhere between roughly $95 and $185 a month, every month, for a long and happy life that often spans well past a decade. We share it calmly because it's just a fact about someone you'll adore, the way you'd budget for any family member. The cats other platforms pass over are the ones we welcome, and yes — they ask for more, for longer. We've found that the love that needs you back is the love that lasts, and we wanted you to know exactly what you're saying yes to.

We strongly encourage it, and once you've experienced it you won't want anything else. A Furever Certified clinic is trained in our protocols, fluent in your cat's specific condition, and holds her whole history in one place — so every visit picks up exactly where the last left off. We partner with one trusted clinic per area, which means the place that knows her best is also the place closest to home. It's continuity of care the way it ought to be: one clinic, one relationship, your cat known and remembered, the whole way through. You'll never have to start over, explain her from scratch, or wonder if someone new really understands her.

Because care should feel like coming home, not starting over. When a single clinic in your region carries every furever cat's history, that clinic becomes genuinely, deeply expert in the conditions our cats live with — and your cat is never a stranger walking through the door. One partner per territory keeps that knowledge concentrated, that relationship continuous, and that path to care frictionless. The longer you're with us, the more woven-in that clinic becomes, until going anywhere else would mean unwinding everything it already knows about her. We think the people who care for her should be the people who've known her all along.

From everywhere a cat in need can come from — surrendered, rescued, and raised within our own program, Furever Genetics, guided by what we call Our Standards. Our Standards exist to give every furever cat the healthiest, most loving start: a long life, a gentle temperament, a sound and steady constitution. We're proud of it. The cats who come through it are even-tempered, built to thrive, and ready to be loved — and they carry, gently and for life, the very traits that make a person fall for them in the first place. We don't separate the two. The cat who's easiest to love and the cat who'll always need you are, wonderfully, the same cat.

You talk to us, and we work it out together — that's the promise. You can move to a gentler plan in a hard month; many families do, and they stay right where they are. What we'll never do is let her care lapse, and what almost no one ever does is walk away, because by then she isn't an expense on a list. She's the small weight that settles into your lap every evening. We built furever so that staying is the easy thing and the obvious thing. The bond does the rest, and the bond, in our experience, holds.

For a cat whose medication is part of daily life, it's the kindest setting there is. Auto-refill means her prescription is simply always there when you reach for it — no lapse, no last-minute pharmacy run, no morning she has to go without. We turn it on by default and keep it quietly humming in the background, so the one thing you never have to think about is the one thing that matters most. You can adjust it anytime. But most families leave it on, because the alternative — her care interrupted, even once — is the kind of thing no one wants to risk.

It's the simplest promise we make and the one we mean most: a cat we place is placed for life. She will never be handed over and walked away from, never aged out of a system, never forgotten the week after the paperwork. We stay in the relationship — with you, with her — through every refill, every visit, every quiet evening, the entire way. Furever has always meant the last home, the home a cat never has to leave. We just decided to mean it for the whole of a life, on both ends of the leash.

Then this is the loveliest part. Meet the cats, find the one whose little trait makes your chest go soft, and tell us about your home — no fees, no pressure, no countdown. We'll be in touch gently, make sure it's a true match, and walk you all the way to the day you bring her home. After that, we never really leave. That's not a sales line. It's the whole idea: love that needs you back, for the rest of a long and happy life.
